British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is recruiting an Education Assistant for École Squamish Elementary, District – South. This temporary assignment runs Sept 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027, or until the incumbent returns, with 5.5 hours per day on school days.
The role supports students with various needs under teacher supervision; a Class 5 BC Driver's License and Capilano University Education Assistant Program are preferred.

Contract: Temporary (September 8, 2026 – June 30, 2027, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first)
Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)
Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)
Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.
This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.
Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
