Job summary

School District No.48 (Sea to Sky) is seeking on-call Education Assistants to support students with physical, intellectual, and behavioural needs under the direction of school staff. The role includes assisting with classroom activities and implementing individualized plans.

Applicants must have Grade 12 plus Capilano University EAP and a BC Class 5 license, plus basic First Aid and computer skills; pay is $33.69/hour for EA and $31.49/hour for supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 plus a Capilano Education Assistant program and 6–12 months related experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
• Basic First Aid knowledge; basic familiarity with learning tools (computers).

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities under the direction of Principals and classroom teachers, supporting program goals.
• Support achievement of stated student goals and objectives in the classroom.

School District No. 48 is currently looking for on-call Education Assistants to join the team!

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year’s related experience.A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of basic First Aid.
• Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).

Rate of Pay:$33.69/hour (Education Assistant)
$31.49/hour (Supervision)
