Job description

The following temporary position is open for applications:

EDUCATION ASSISTANT

Location: District – North Whistler Secondary School

Temporary: September 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first

Hours: 6 hours per day, 3 days per week (Education Assistant)

Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment. This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.

Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
