School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) is hiring an Education Assistant to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Principal and classroom teachers. You will assist with individualized programs and supervise designated areas before, during, and after school as required by the assignment.
Completion of Grade 12 plus Capilano Education Assistant Program, plus a BC Class 5 license and basic First Aid knowledge are required. A criminal records check is mandatory for new applicants.
Location: District – South 2 Positions
Effective: September 8, 2026
Hours: 5.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (Education Assistant)
Rate of Pay: $33.69/hour (Education Assistant)
Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.
This position will require the successful applicant to deliver a higher level of care.
Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
