About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for the inspection, adjustment, repair, troubleshooting, planned and unplanned maintenance of fixed equipment used in milling operations, such as conveyors, gearboxes, crushers, ball mills, screens, slurry and solution pumps, cyclones, piping and ducting.
Primary Responsibility & Duties
Works and ensures all workers work within compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants, all other applicable government standards and regulations, company policies, procedures and guideline
Complies with and participates in the continuous improvement of all safety and environmental policies and procedures
Actively participates and encourages others to participate in the Internal Responsibility System and the Five Point Safety System
Routine preventative maintenance inspections, adjustment and troubleshooting
Planned and unplanned maintenance repairs, including overhaul
Report equipment issues, unsafe or unusual conditions, and spillage immediately to supervision
Maintain good housekeeping of all shop and work areas
Work order time entry and completion
All other activities as assigned by the Mill Supervisor
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
Certification as an Industrial Millwright
Minimum of 5 yrs exp. In similar functions
Minimum of 12 months’ working experience in ore processing
Clear, active communicator and organized
Works effectively independently and collaboratively within a team
Mechanical knowledge of fixed equipment used within the milling process
Understanding of mill processes and relationships between operating areas
Experience in cutting and welding
Hydraulics experience preferred
The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a defined rotation schedule. 14 days on / 14 days off.
