Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Technician Development Manager to oversee the evaluation of technical service candidates and support through the hiring process, ensuring candidates have the skills and knowledge to meet business needs.

You will screen, interview, and assess candidates, partnering with Operations, HR, Training, and SMEs to build a robust talent pipeline and drive development across teams.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification with field or workshop experience in heavy equipment/mining/industrial environments.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passionate about identifying top talent to support operational excellence.
• Develop and maintain internal and external talent networks.

Responsibilities

• Screen candidates, interview, conduct technical tests, and provide hiring recommendations; design assessments of trade knowledge and safety.
• Work with Operations Managers, HR, Training and SME to define workforce needs and maintain a talent pipeline.
• Conduct behavioral and technical interviews, verify certifications and experience, and advise on fit and development potential.
• Build relationships with industry partners and external stakeholders to attract skilled talent through events and outreach.
• Develop feedback loops to evaluate hiring effectiveness.
