Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Technician Development Manager to lead the recruitment and development of service technicians. The role focuses on screening, interviewing, testing, and selecting qualified candidates, while partnering with Operations, HR, and Training to forecast workforce needs and build a robust talent pipeline.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Red Seal trade certification and have field or workshop experience in heavy equipment/mining/industrial environments.
• Bilingual in French and English is required.
• Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience leading or managing teams in technical settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen candidates, conduct interviews, administer assessments, and provide hiring recommendations.
• Collaborate with Operations Managers, HR, Training, and SMEs to identify workforce needs and maintain a talent pipeline.
• Conduct behavioural and technical interviews, verify certifications and experience, and provide objective recommendations.
• Develop relationships with industry partners and external stakeholders to attract skilled talent and attend job fairs and industry events.
• Develop feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of hiring decisions.
