Job summary

Van Mossel Guernsey Limited is seeking a Vehicle Technician to perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to the highest standards. You will work with the Workshop Controller to ensure accurate job completion, first‑time fixes and attention to detail, guaranteeing customer vehicles are maintained safely and in line with manufacturer standards.

The role requires carrying out service and repair work, completing service documents, and maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience performing servicing, maintenance and repair to high industry standards.
• Ability to follow workshop processes and use manufacturer standards.
• Willingness to attend training and develop technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service and repair work competently and within the times set by the Flat Rate Manual or as directed by management.
• Complete repair orders and service sheets clearly and accurately to manufacturer standards.
• Ensure all labour is recorded using the time clock as required by management.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment at all times.
• Follow workshop processes, procedures and systems consistently.
• Advise management of any additional work needed during servicing using required documentation.
• Retain and prepare parts for warranty or surcharge claims, ensuring proper handling.
• Handle all customer vehicles with care, using clean service kits and protecting vehicles during the process.
• Attend internal and external training courses to maintain and develop technical skills.
• Use manufacturer special tools and diagnostic equipment to improve workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge by reading service information and technical bulletins.
• Be prepared to work overtime when required, with reasonable notice.
• Maintain high levels of first-time fix performance and attention to detail.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work efficiently and to the highest standards. You will work closely with the Workshop Controller to ensure accurate job completion, first-time fixes and exceptional attention to detail. Your role ensures customer vehicles are maintained safely, professionally and in line with manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all service and repair work competently and within the times set by the Flat Rate Manual or as agreed by the Aftersales Manager.
• Complete all repair orders, including clocking, write-ups, service sheets and battery test sheets, clearly and accurately to manufacturer standards.
• Ensure all labour is recorded using the time clock as required by management.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment at all times.
• Follow all workshop processes, procedures and systems consistently.
• Advise the Aftersales Manager or Service Advisor of any additional work needed during servicing, using the required documentation.
• Retain and prepare parts required for warranty or surcharge claims, ensuring they are cleaned, drained and returned to the Parts Department when necessary.
• Handle all customer vehicles with care, using clean service kits and ensuring vehicles are protected throughout the process.
• Attend internal and external training courses as directed to maintain and develop technical skills.
• Make full use of manufacturer special tools, diagnostic equipment and technical resources to improve workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge by reading service information, technical bulletins and updates provided by the Service Management team.
• Be prepared to work overtime where required, with reasonable notice.
• Maintain high levels of first-time fix performance, demonstrating attention to detail and a focus on delivering the best possible customer experience.
