Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid Technical Writing & Documentation Co-op role at dynaCERT Inc., based in York, ON. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers, QA specialists, and project managers to create and update user manuals, product documentation, and internal guides. This opportunity is ideal for students enrolled in writing or communication-focused programs who are looking to gain real-world experience in a cleantech environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing, formatting, and updating user documentation, installation manuals, and product support materials.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather accurate information and translate it into clear, readable content.
  • Design and format documents using Microsoft Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain consistency in style, tone, and terminology across all documents.
  • Support editing and proofreading of internal communications and stakeholder materials.
  • Help manage shared documentation libraries and version control (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Attend team meetings (in person or virtual) to track documentation needs and progress.

Training, Education & Skills Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Writing, Creative Writing, Professional Communication, Technical Communication, Journalism, English, or a related college/university co-op program.
  • Strong command of English writing and editing with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Publisher, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to clearly convey technical concepts in plain language.
  • Well-organized and comfortable meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Available to work part-time hours (as per school co-op guidelines).
  • Able to work in a hybrid setting with occasional onsite work at our York, ON office.
  • This is an unpaid co-op position for academic credit and professional experience.
  • You must be enrolled in a co-op education program approved by a college or university.
  • You must be comfortable with a hybrid work arrangement that includes some onsite work in York, ON.
