Job summary

TEEMA in the Metro Vancouver area is seeking a skilled technical writer to create and update manuals and documentation for engineering information. You will translate complex drawings and specifications into clear, accurate material.

The role starts onsite full-time for the first 2 months for onboarding and training, then transitions to hybrid with a minimum of 2 days onsite per week. Collaboration with Engineering, Configuration Management, Project Management and Supply Chain is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical writing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, English or related field.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical data.
• Strong technical writing, editing and document-formatting skills.
• Experience creating structured technical documentation.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD and/or DEF STAN documentation standards is an asset.
• Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create and update technical documentation, including operating manuals, maintenance manuals and Illustrated Parts Catalogs.
• Turn engineering drawings, specifications and technical information into clear, easy-to-understand documentation.
• Work closely with Engineering, Configuration Management, Project Management, Supply Chain and other teams.
• Review documentation for technical accuracy, consistency and quality.
• Maintain document version control and incorporate approved engineering/configuration changes.
• Create structured documentation that meets applicable defence, customer and quality standards.
• Identify missing technical information and work with the appropriate teams to resolve gaps.
• Support documentation reviews, audits and publication activities.
