Job summary

Sonovision Canada Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer with strong expertise in XML/SGML-based structured authoring, S1000D, and ATA iSpec 2200 to transform complex engineering information into clear, accurate, and compliant documentation.

You will author Data Modules in a structured authoring environment, ensure BREX and project rules compliance, and collaborate with engineers and data managers to deliver high‑quality documentation on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience authoring XML/SGML-based technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience producing S1000D-compliant content, including DMs, DMRLs, and BREX validation.
• Experience with structured authoring tools such as Arbortext Editor, oXygen XML Author, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of aerospace or mechanical/electrical technical domains.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Develop, revise, and maintain technical documentation in accordance with S1000D (Issue 4.x/5.x), ATA iSpec 2200, ATA 100, and AG-006 standards.

• Maintain version control, track changes, and support configuration management activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes and internal best practices.

We are seeking a Technical Writer with strong expertise in XML/SGML-based structured authoring, S1000D, and ATA iSpec 2200. Your work will transform complex engineering information into clear, accurate, and compliant technical content used globally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CSDB systems such as EAGLE Publishing System, R4i, Tridion Docs, or comparable platforms.
• Aerospace maintenance or engineering background.
