Technical Support Specialist I, FME Flow
As a Technical Support Specialist I, you’ll be part of a team that helps users integrate, transform, and automate their data using Safe Software’s FME platform. You’ll respond to inquiries from customers, deliver clear and empathetic support, and create educational materials like webinars and tutorials.
You’ll also participate in cross-functional efforts, from product testing to knowledge-sharing across departments. If you enjoy problem-solving, continuous learning, and working with people and technology, this role could be a great fit.
About The Team
Our Customer Success team supports a global and diverse user base. We’re a collaborative, cross-functional group that values inclusion, innovation, and curiosity. We work together to empower customers through technical guidance and shared learning—supporting both our FME Form and FME Flow products.
You’ll be joining peers who are generous with their knowledge, proactive in their learning, and committed to delivering real value.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Technical Support Specialist (Level 1), you will:
- Respond to customer inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Build proof-of-concept examples and showcase FME capabilities.
- Create training content, including tutorials, webinars, and knowledge base articles.
- Contribute to testing and providing feedback on new product features.
- Explore systems and technologies related to data integration and automation.
- Keep up to date with FME platform developments.
Qualifications, Skills, And Competencies
Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with a diversity in skills and knowledge. That said, we find that those who are most successful in this role have experience with the following areas.
Required Skills
- 1–2 years in a technical support, consulting, or related customer-facing role.
- Bachelor’s degree, post-grad diploma, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., GIS, database management, data analytics, software systems).
- Clear and empathetic communication.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable presenting technical content.
- Eager to learn and adapt to change.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Curious, collaborative, and customer-focused.
Desired Skills / Bonus Points
- Experience with FME or other integration/ETL tools
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments
- Working with APIs, databases, or cloud-based platforms
- Technical writing or training experience
- Additional language skills
