Job summary

Canada Building Materials (CBM), a part of VCNA, is seeking a Technical Services Representative (Student) in the East Region (Peterborough to Kingston). Based in Peterborough, ON, this role supports CSA & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing at job sites, records data, and promotes value-added products.

The position runs May–December 2026, requires an enrolled Civil Engineering Technician program, basic Windows/Office skills, ability to lift 50 lbs, a valid G2/G license, and willingness to

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technician (CET) program, or similar program.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel)
• Ability to perform physical tasks outside
• Construction field experience would be an asset
• Valid G2 or G Driver’s license and ability to drive a company pickup truck
• 3-year drivers abstract
• Must be able to lift up 50lbs

Responsibilities

• Visit job sites, perform ongoing CSA & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Promotes value added products, collects market and job information
• Supervises and plan for efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards or procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
