Job summary

Canada Building Materials (CBM), part of VCNA, is seeking a Technical Services Representative (Student) based in the GTA. The position supports field testing on construction sites and involves collecting and recording data, with focus on CSA & ASTM testing. May–Dec 2026 availability requested.

The role requires enrollment in a CET program, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A valid G2/G license and driving ability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technician (CET) program, or similar program.
• Ability to perform physical tasks outside.
• Strong computer skills including Windows, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Visit job sites and perform CSA & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing; record data.
• Promote value-added products and collect market and job information.
• Supervise and plan for efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Assist with modifications of quality or production standards or procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

CBM Ready-Mix is seeking a Technical Services Representative (Student), based in the GTA.

This position is for Students available between May – December 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Visit job sites, perform ongoing CSA & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Promotes value added products, collects market and job information
• Supervises and plan for efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards or procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Technician (CET) program, or similar program.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel)
• Ability to perform physical tasks outside
• Construction field experience would be an asset
• Valid G2 or G Driver’s license and ability to drive a company prick-up truck
• 3-year drivers abstract
• Must be able to lift up 50lbs
