Job summary

Finning Canada seeks two permanent, full-time Technical Service Representatives to support customers in Elkford, focusing on 797 F mining trucks. You will build strong relationships and provide technical expertise to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and performance.

You will work on customer sites in Elkford on a 7x7 shift, engaging with customers to discuss repairs, safety, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician designation preferred, or equivalent extensive mechanical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of mining, heavy equipment, or related industry experience.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing technical support, service, or maintenance role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through regular shop and job-face visits and ongoing communication.
• Schedule stakeholder meetings, establish agendas, and provide accurate reporting of events and findings.
• Conduct technical audits and equipment assessments to identify performance, reliability, and maintenance opportunities.
• Collaborate with Parts, Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and support services.
• Provide timely technical analysis, troubleshooting assistance, and resolution of stakeholder concerns.
• Escalate machine-down or repair critical situations to ensure rapid response and resolution.
• Maintain detailed records of technical issues, solutions, and machine history for continuous improvement.
• Ensure approximately 80% of work time is spent directly supporting service operations and improvement project teams.

In this customer-focused role, you will build strong internal and external relationships while providing technical expertise to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and performance. You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers optimize the repair and maintenance of Caterpillar mining equipment in accordance with OEM standards and best practices.Working closely with internal teams and various stakeholders, you will proactively identify equipment issues, recommend solutions, and support long-term maintenance planning to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Direct engagement with our customers will be required to support technical discussions and repair planning.You will be working on the customer site in Elkford on a 7x7 continuous shift schedule.The expected salary range for this position is between $110k - $120k.
