Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring two Field Service Supervisors in Elkford to lead teams of technicians responsible for maintenance, repair, and reliability of CAT 797 haul trucks. You will drive safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in a field-based, 7x7 shift rotation.

The role emphasizes coaching and developing technicians, coordinating resources, and delivering superior service in a challenging mining environment. Competitive compensation with pension and benefits is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Caterpillar mining equipment, with CAT 797 haul trucks considered a strong asset.
• Proven leadership experience with coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams in mining or heavy equipment.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills for leading frontline employees and customer interactions.
• Solid understanding of Caterpillar products, warranty processes, product health programs, and service operations.
• Experience in a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective agreements and employee relations practices.

• Ensure accurate completion of service reports and standard operating procedures.

Finning is seeking two Field Service Supervisors to lead teams of skilled technicians supporting our customers. In this role you will oversee the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and reliability of a fleet of 797 haul trucks, while building strong customer relationships and driving operational excellence.

Location: Elkford

Schedule: 7x7 shift rotation

We anticipate the base salary for this position will be between $120,000 - $130,000. Actual salary will be based on the candidate's experience. This role is also eligible for Regional Wage Allowance, Hours Adjustment and Short Term Incentive Program.

Job Description

• Spend the majority of your time in the field supporting technicians and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate and allocate resources, tooling, and personnel to support planned maintenance and repair activities on CAT 797 haul trucks.
• Conduct pre-job, mid-job, and post-job reviews to ensure scope, quality, productivity, and customer expectations are achieved.
• Provide technical guidance and support to quickly resolve complex equipment, tooling, and parts-related issues.
• Build strong customer relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day field service operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports, job documentation, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Caterpillar mining equipment, with experience on CAT 797 haul trucks considered a strong asset.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in a mining or heavy equipment environment.

• Solid understanding of Caterpillar products, warranty processes, product health programs, and service operations.
• Experience working within a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective agreements, performance management, and employee relations practices.
• Advanced proficiency with Caterpillar SIS and working knowledge of SIMSi, SIMS, DSN, and DPSS.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
