Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking two Field Service Supervisors to lead teams of skilled technicians supporting our customers. You will oversee the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and reliability of CAT 797 haul trucks while building strong customer relationships.

Based in Elkford with a 7x7 shift, the role offers a base salary between 120000 and 130000 CAD, with Regional Wage Allowance, Hours Adjustment and Short Term Incentive Program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Caterpillar mining equipment, CAT 797 experience preferred.
• Proven leadership in mining or heavy equipment with frontline coaching.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; customer-facing.
• Experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of collective agreements.
• Proficiency with Caterpillar service tools (SIS, SIMSi, SIMS).

Responsibilities

• Champion safety standards and ensure compliance.
• Lead, coach, and develop technicians.
• Spend majority of time in the field supporting technicians.
• Coordinate resources to support planned maintenance on CAT 797 trucks.
• Conduct pre-, mid-, and post-job reviews to meet scope and quality.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve equipment issues.
• Build strong customer relationships as the primary point of contact.
• Ensure timely completion of service reports and SOPs.

Finning is seeking two Field Service Supervisors to lead teams of skilled technicians supporting our customers. In this role you will oversee the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and reliability of a fleet of 797 haul trucks, while building strong customer relationships and driving operational excellence.

Location: Elkford

Schedule: 7x7 shift rotation

We anticipate the base salary for this position will be between $120,000 - $130,000. Actual salary will be based on the candidate's experience. This role is also eligible for Regional Wage Allowance, Hours Adjustment and Short Term Incentive Program.

Job Description

• Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all safety standards, procedures, and compliance requirements are understood and consistently followed.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing mentorship.
• Spend the majority of your time in the field supporting technicians and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate and allocate resources, tooling, and personnel to support planned maintenance and repair activities on CAT 797 haul trucks.
• Conduct pre-job, mid-job, and post-job reviews to ensure scope, quality, productivity, and customer expectations are achieved.
• Provide technical guidance and support to quickly resolve complex equipment, tooling, and parts-related issues.
• Build strong customer relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day field service operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports, job documentation, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Caterpillar mining equipment, with experience on CAT 797 haul trucks considered a strong asset.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in a mining or heavy equipment environment.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively lead frontline employees and customer interactions.
• Solid understanding of Caterpillar products, warranty processes, product health programs, and service operations.
• Experience working within a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective agreements, performance management, and employee relations practices.
• Advanced proficiency with Caterpillar SIS and working knowledge of SIMSi, SIMS, DSN, and DPSS.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and delivering safe, high-quality results.
