Job summary

Rocscience, a Toronto-based software provider, is seeking a Technical Content Specialist to produce and manage high-quality documentation for geotechnical engineering tools. You will write, edit, and publish content across Rocscience products, ensuring accuracy and clarity for diverse users.

You will work with QA, developers, and SMEs to keep materials current, align with branding, and maintain asset libraries.

Qualifications

• Exceptional English writing and editing skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, organize, and publish technical documentation for Rocscience products and services.
• Edit and proofread documentation pages, tutorials, and manuals.
• Use CMS to edit, update, and publish content.
• Manage documentation requests via Azure DevOps.
• Edit HTML content including fonts, lists, links, and images.
• Ensure WCAG and AODA accessibility compliance.
• Align content with Branding Guidelines and Style Guide.
• Build and maintain digital media libraries for User Guide assets.
• Collaborate with QA and developers to keep docs up to date.
• Coordinate with geotechnical engineers to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• Capture software screenshots and create thumbnails.
• Interact with UX/UI, Design, and Web Dev teams for new content ideas.

We're looking for a Technical Content Specialist to join our Toronto team. Working closely with our Documentation Lead and subject matter experts, you'll create and manage technical content across our suite of geotechnical engineering software, ensuring complex information is accurate, clear, consistent, and easy for our users to understand.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for creating, organizing, maintaining, and publishing technical documentation across Rocscience products and services. Responsibilities include:

• Writing and copy-editing documentation pages, tutorials, and verification/theory manuals.
• Using our content management system (CMS) to edit, update, and publish documentation content.
• Managing documentation requests through Azure DevOps.
• Editing and reviewing HTML content, including font styles, lists, links, and images.
• Ensuring all documentation content complies with WCAG and provincial accessibility guidelines (AODA).
• Ensuring all documentation content aligns with Rocscience's Branding Guidelines and Style Guide, and updating materials as our branding evolves.
• Creating, organizing, and maintaining digital media libraries of User Guide assets (figures, icons, tutorial images, PDF manuals, etc.).
• Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team and developers to ensure documentation content stays up-to-date and aligns with the latest software releases.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts, including geotechnical engineers, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in technical materials and communicate complex information clearly to our users.
• Taking screenshots of software for documentation figures and tutorial instructions, as well as creating simple thumbnail images.
• Working with UI/UX, Design, and Web Development teams to develop new content ideas and solutions for the company website.
