Job summary

John Howard Society of Durham Region is seeking a Team Lead to guide the Building Momentum for Youth program in Durham Region. You will supervise staff, oversee intake, assessment and workshop delivery, and support youth-facing outcomes with a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approach.

The role emphasizes leadership, program coordination and partnership engagement to establish a Youth Hub model in Clarington and surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field.
• At least two years experience working with vulnerable or at-risk youth (ages 14–18).
• Experience providing team leadership, coaching or mentoring is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team in developing and delivering the Building Momentum for Youth program.
• Ensure intake, assessment, programming, exit, data collection and follow-up adhere to agency guidelines.
• Coordinate and facilitate workshops focusing on life skills, job preparation and mentorship.
• Strengthen staff capacity and promote collaborative, client‑centred service delivery.
• Monitor documentation quality, reporting and program outcomes with the Program Co-ordinator.
