Job summary

Pattison Food Group Ltd. in Langley, BC, is hiring a Team Lead, Data & Analytics to guide a small team delivering trusted data products and analytics.

You will translate business needs into scalable semantic models, governance-ready datasets, and robust dashboards across the enterprise. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will drive data architecture, collaborate with IT and business units, and mentor analysts and engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, BI, data engineering, or related field.
• Experience leading technical projects or small teams with mentoring.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills, including dimensional and semantic modelling.
• Experience designing or maintaining semantic layers, metrics, metadata structures, or data frameworks.
• Ability to gather requirements, engage stakeholders, and translate problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise datasets and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) within Lakehouse architectures.
• Knowledge of BI/visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Understanding of data governance, security, metadata management, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and improvement of semantic layers and reusable data products.
• Translate business concepts into standardized semantic models and governed datasets.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into scalable solutions.
• Provide guidance on metadata, data lineage, and ontology-informed structures.
• Oversee data analytics projects from requirements to deployment and support.
• Mentor a team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers and support their growth.
• Ensure data models, dashboards, and reporting meet governance and production standards.
• Support adoption of modern data technologies like Databricks and AI-enabled analytics.
• Offer technical oversight for complex production issues and enhancements.
