Job summary

HW Partners seeks a Team Lead CPA in Ottawa to supervise staff accountants, manage client engagements, and drive assurance planning. The role emphasizes leading teams, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality services in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has CPA designation, at least two years in public practice, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to lead complex projects with growing independence. English/French bilingualism is an asset.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in public practice.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with Compilation Engagements, reviews, and corporate/personal tax.
• Bilingual English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor staff accountants on client engagements.
• Act as the main point of contact between clients and your team.
• Take ownership of complex projects with growing independence.
• Develop assurance plans and budgets and monitor engagement progress.
• Motivate and support your team’s career development.
• Identify business opportunities with current clients.
• Participate in internal committees and help implement firm initiatives.
• Lead pre-engagement planning and deliver presentations or training in your area of expertise.
