Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa seeks a Talent Acquisition/People & Culture Advisor reporting to the Director, People & Culture. You will coordinate full cycle recruitment, maintain high standards, and support HR operations within a strategic team focused on driving business results through people.

Ideal candidates have HR/admin experience, bilingual in English and French, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in HR and administrative work required.
  • Diploma/Degree in Administration, Hospitality or Human Resources Management an asset.
  • Fluent in both official languages.
  • Windows: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other office programs at an advanced level.
  • thrive on being busy and remain focused and calm in a hectic office environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Maintain professionalism in a highly confidential environment with tact and warmth.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome colleagues visiting People & Culture for inquiries and support.
  • Coordinate full cycle recruitment from requisition to onboarding.
  • Maintain high standards during recruitment and selection.
  • Review resumes and assessments daily from TA system and websites.
  • Administers Talent Acquisition System; update postings and job descriptions.
  • Liaise with departmental recruiters to plan recruitment needs.
  • Assist departments with reference checks when needed.
  • Handle criminal background check forms.
  • Create offer letters for colleagues and leadership positions.
  • Open paper files, take photos, prepare name tags and lockers.
  • Conduct monthly locker audits.
  • Develop relationships with hotel schools and participate in on-campus recruitment.
  • Handle Co-Op student requests and coordinate placements.
  • Provide administrative support to the People & Culture Office.
  • Respond to inquiries in a professional, friendly and timely manner.
  • Conduct the termination process and paperwork.
  • Organize internal activities and assist the Director as assigned.
  • Follow all safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Welcome colleagueswho visit People & Culture for general inquiries and offering support as needed;
  • Coordinate full cycle recruitment from requisition to candidate onboarding;
  • Maintain the high standards during the recruitment and selection process;
  • Review resumes and assessments from Talent Acquisition System and all internet sites on a daily basis;
  • Administers Talent Acquisition System; ensures all requisitions are entered in a timely manner, updates all jobs description both external/internal on websites, ensures postings are correct and accurate;
  • Liaise with departmental recruiters in support of the recruitment process and to plan their recruitment needs;
  • Assist departments with conducting reference checks when needed;
  • Handle criminal background check forms;
  • Create offer letters for colleague and leadership positions;
  • Open paper file of new Colleagues, take photos of new Colleagues, prepare name tags and assign lockers.
  • Conduct monthly locker audits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with leading Hotel schools, participate in on-campus recruitment;
  • Handle Co-Op student requests and coordinate their placements with Department Heads;
  • Provide administrative support to the People & Culture Office (daily mail, general inquiries by telephone or email, letters of employment, stationary orders, file organization and etc.)
  • Respond to varied colleague inquiries in a professional, friendly and timely manner;
  • Conduct the termination process and paperwork;
  • Organize and participate in internal activities (children's Christmas party, annual recognition event, long service awards, monthly recognition lunch, etc.);
  • Assist the Director, People & Culture in other tasks as assigned;
  • Follow all safety policies;
  • Other duties as assigned;
