Job summary

Blackbird Security in Vernon, BC is seeking Tactical Security Guards to protect clients, deter theft, and provide customer service in retail environments.

Guard duties include patrolling aisles, monitoring cameras, confronting suspects, documenting incidents, and escalating to authorities as needed while maintaining professionalism and clear communication with staff and customers.

Qualifications

• A Valid Security License is required.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) Certification is an asset.
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting.
• Previous security experience in a retail environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required.
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills.
• Ability to work without close supervision.
• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention.

Responsibilities

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.
