Job summary

Blackbird Security Inc. in Vernon, BC is seeking Tactical Security Guards to protect retail environments, deter theft, and provide excellent customer service. You will patrol premises, monitor CCTV, and address suspicious activity while maintaining safety for clients and customers.

The ideal candidate holds a valid security license, may have AST certification, and has experience with detaining shoplifters. Strong communication and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prevent theft in a retail environment while delivering customer service.
• Patrol aisles, monitor customers, and review CCTV footage.
• Confront suspected shoplifters.
• Escort trespassers from client premises.
• Perform arrests and detainments, recover unpaid merchandise.
• Complete documentation for security incidents.
• Escalate to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergencies promptly.

What you will do

• Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
• Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
• Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
• Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
• Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
• Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations.
• Escalate situation to law enforcement as required.
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner.

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid Security License is required
• Advanced Security Training (AST) Certification is an asset
• Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention
