Job summary

Blackbird Security in Kelowna, BC is seeking Uniform Security Guards for a new retail contract. You will establish a strong security presence, deter crime and provide excellent customer service to clients, customers and patrons.

The ideal candidate holds a valid BC Security License, retail security experience, and strong communication skills. You should be able to work with minimal supervision, stand and patrol for the duration of shifts, and participate in training and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security License required.
• Experience in a retail security environment preferred.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong security presence to deter crime and theft.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, customers and patrons.
• Patrol premises, manage access control and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Perform security duties with professionalism and integrity.
• Complete incident reports for security purposes.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.

What You Will Do

• Establish a strong security presence to deter crime and theft
• Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
• Patrol the premises, provide access control and respond to emergency situations in an appropriate and timely manner
• Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
• Complete incident reports for security purposes
• Respond to emergencies and escape to law enforcement agencies as required

The Ideal Candidate

• A Valid BC Security License
• Previous security experience in a retail environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Willing to stand and patrol for the duration of the shift
• Advanced Security Training (AST) is an asset
