Job description

As a Systems Engineer II at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency. You will work within cross‑functional teams on cutting‑edge projects that transform the way businesses operate. Your expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical guidance will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions.

You will report directly to our Test Engineering Manager and will work out of our Mississauga, ON location on an on‑site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development and deployment of advanced systems, including hardware and software. You will ensure that the system design aligns with Honeywell's quality standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the design and development of advanced systems, including hardware and software components, leveraging experience in manufacturing engineering and process optimization.
  • Provide successful execution of complex engineering projects, drawing on over 10 years of experience in project management and cross‑functional leadership.
  • Guide the deployment and configuration of systems, ensuring they are installed correctly, tested rigorously, and perform optimally applying expertise in test automation, tooling, and validation processes.
  • Provide technical guidance in identifying and resolving system issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring systems remain operational, with a strong background in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Work within a diverse team to perform technical execution, technical risk management, and requirements management for customer missionizations and new product development for Honeywell's Embedded GPS/INS product line.
  • Interface with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, and other Integrated Program Team members to drive project success.
  • Perform customer flow down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, and technical solution development including test strategy, architecture development, and engineering test design.
  • Design and develop test cases/scripts for Complex Electronic Hardware Requirements, ensuring alignment with yield improvement and defect reduction goals.
  • Contribute to system design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) with internal and external customers, leveraging strong documentation and process mapping skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as Mechanical, Sciences, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance or related technical roles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation.
  • Excellent communication and people‑oriented skills, with a history of cross‑functional collaboration and mentorship.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with navigation and sensor products (gyroscopes and accelerometers) and performance is an asset.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink is an asset.
  • Familiarity with DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
  • Strong data validation and process optimization skills, with experience in VBA and Google App Script for reporting and metrics tracking.
  • Individuals who quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.
  • Diverse and global teaming and collaboration experience.
  • Self‑motivated individuals who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
  • Ability to adapt to dictated project changes and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team participation and learning skills, with a track record of mentoring and leading engineering teams.

The annual base salary for this position starts at $73,600. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
