Job Title : Senior System Administrator - Windows Server OS
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior System Administrator to join our IT team at Telus Health. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, documenting operations and optimizing our Windows-based server infrastructure.
Responsibilities :
Design, document, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS, Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), and Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS)
Manage Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) environment, including App registration and Enterprise application deployment, configuration and maintenance and identity synchronization with Azure Entra ID Connect.
Participate in resource and directory services auditing and compliance remediation.
Manage and optimize server performance, security, and availability. Plan and execute server upgrades, patches, and migrations
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
Monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting languages
Manage and configure virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and services
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022
Experience with Active Directory, Certificate Services, Federation Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) are a plus
