Job summary

SKF Group in Calgary, Alberta seeks a Sustainability, Facilities, & EHS Manager to drive safety and environmental culture. You will ensure compliance with local rules, ISO 45001/14001, and SKF standards, leading energy efficiency, waste reduction, and climate initiatives across the site.

Responsibilities include reporting on GHGs, risk reviews, incident investigations, and stakeholder coaching to embed SKF values and continuous improvement. A relevant degree and CRSP are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in occupational health and safety, environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related discipline.
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
• First Aid/CPR certification and valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence preferred.

Purpose of the role

The Sustainability, Facilities, & EHS Manager supports the safety and environmental culture at SKF. This role is to ensure the respect and application of the Health, Environmental, and Safety rules according to local regulatory codes, ISO 45001 / 14001, and SKF Group Standards. This role will work towards compliance and sustainability objectives set by SKF Group and MSU Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

Sustainability, Energy & Climate

• Lead site sustainability strategy, roadmaps, targets and initiatives aligned with SKF Group commitments.
• Coordinate sustainability reporting, including GHG emissions, customer requests, supporting evidence and applicable CSRD inputs.
• Partner across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Management on lifecycle impacts, circularity, responsible sourcing, waste reduction and product carbon-footprint inputs.
• Lead site energy efficiency, decarbonization and climate-adaptation planning; monitor energy, emissions and climate indicators.
• Assess technical solutions, develop business cases and coordinate approved projects, incentives, implementation and benefits verification.

EHS Management, Compliance & Risk

• Maintain the EHS management system in accordance with legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, SKF Group requirements and site policies.
• Monitor regulatory and internal requirements; maintain procedures, records and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate hazard assessments, JSAs and equipment, process, chemical and change-management risk reviews; track actions to closure.
• Maintain emergency-response arrangements and lead timely reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective action for incidents and near misses.
• Develop annual EHS plans, budgets and management reviews; support audits, inspections and closure of findings.
• Lead waste-management improvements, including segregation, recycling, hazardous-waste controls and progress toward zero waste to landfill.

Training, Culture & Daily Support

• Develop and administer the EHS training matrix, onboarding, role-specific and refresher training.
• Coach managers, supervisors and employees on EHS responsibilities, safe work practices and escalation of hazards or non-conformances.
• Promote employee engagement through daily management, safety walks, observations, proactive reporting and visible follow-up.
• Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee, inspections, recommendations, action tracking and required records.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHS metrics and reports; model SKF standards, safe practices and continuous improvement.

Experience

• 3+ years of health and safety experience.
• Lifecycle and carbon-footprint assessment; ISO 50001 knowledge an asset.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining EHS programs and management systems.

Knowledge

• GHG accounting, GHG Protocol, energy management, decarbonization, climate-risk assessment, waste management and sustainability reporting.
• Alberta OHS legislation; ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements and audit support an asset.
• WHMIS, hazard assessment, emergency response, incident investigation and Joint Health and Safety Committee requirements.
