Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct land, boundary, and topographic surveys using Total Stations and GPS.
  • Perform construction layout surveys to position structures per plans.
  • Record and analyze survey measurements, elevations, and land contours.
  • Prepare survey reports, maps, and sketches for engineering and planning.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and project managers for accurate data.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international surveying standards.

Job description

The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

What is the project?

The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.

What is the Opportunity?

The Surveyor will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

As a Surveyor, you will perform land, topographic, and construction surveys to support infrastructure and building projects. You will be responsible for measuring, mapping, and analyzing land features, ensuring accurate data collection for engineering and construction purposes. This role requires fieldwork, operating surveying instruments, and collaborating with engineers, architects, and construction teams.

  • Conduct land, boundary, and topographic surveys using advanced surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS, etc.).

  • Maintain surveying instruments, tools, and calibration records to ensure accuracy.

  • Provide guidance to construction teams regarding site measurements and layout adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in land, construction, or geodetic surveying.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments (Total Stations, GPS, Laser Scanners, and Digital Levels).
  • Knowledge of surveying software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Leica, Trimble, or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with local land regulations, zoning laws, and geospatial data management.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to interpret survey data accurately.
  • Ability to work in varied outdoor environments under different weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Work Conditions:
  • Primarily field-based, with occasional office work for data processing and reporting.
  • Full-time, with potential for overtime and weekend shifts depending on project needs.
