Key Responsibilities
  • Complete various field survey operations as assigned, including but not limited to:
  • Total Station accurate set of angles and high accuracy levelling lops for Surface and Tunnel control network.
  • Total Station/GPS surveys, lay-outs and As-Builts.
  • Other surface and tunnel survey works as requested.
  • Setup and configure survey equipment
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Helps maintaining and verifying the control network.
  • Maintain accurate survey notes and records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
  • Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required.
  • Communicate with operations, engineers and subcontractors to complete assigned tasks.
  • Manage As-Built information and digital records.
  • Maintain and follow health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work varying shifts as required by the project timelines.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment under different weather and environmental conditions including noise, dust, cold and hot weather, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field, professional licensure or certification in advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of experience in land surveying, with proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Ontario Land Surveyor experience considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in surveying instruments, software and geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management abilities.
  • Effective decision-making critical thinking skills.
