Job summary

GardaWorld in Markham, Ontario, is seeking a Surveillance Security Guard to monitor security systems, detect suspicious activity and respond quickly to incidents. You will document events with detailed reports and perform regular foot patrols to safeguard the premises.

This full-time role requires an Ontario security license, WSIB First Aid certification, and at least one year of security experience. Strong observation, reporting, and tech proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada; holds an Ontario security license.
• WSIB approved First aid certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of security experience; minimum high school diploma.
• Diploma in Police Foundations is a strong asset (optional).
• Experience using CCURE is a strong asset (optional).

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity.
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats.
• Document observed events and incidents, writing detailed reports.
• Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure the safety of the premises.
• Control access to secure areas and check visitor identifications.
• Analyze security systems to identify vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
• Work with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies.

As a Surveillance Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalated in environments such as security operation centres , call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.
