Job summary

BayCare Health System in St. Josephs Cove is hiring a Surgical Technologist to provide vital technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and ensuring a sterile field. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, BLS certification, and experience through an accredited program or military training. • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies, and patients for surgery.
• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.

Job description

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
