Qualifications

• Must complete an accredited surgical technology program.
• CST certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Ensure knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and operate laser equipment as required.

The Surgical Technologist Department Pool is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

Position Details

• Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens
• Status: Pool, Exempt: No
• Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm
• Weekend Work: Occasional
• On Call: Yes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program
• CST (Surgical Tech) certification
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Must have knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up as well as laser equipment use and maintenance.
