Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the perioperative team. The role involves preparing the OR, instruments, and sterile fields under RN supervision, and assisting with specimen handling and transport as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens - CVOR

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements
