Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team at St Josephs Main and Children's. The role involves preparing the operating room, equipment, and patients to maintain a sterile field under the supervision of a RN.

The position supports specimen handling, inventory management, and may assist in transporting patients. On-site full-time Exempt: No, with shift hours in the 6:30am–5:00pm window and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR equivalent military/hospital training with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from AHA or Red Cross.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Certified Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.

Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens.

Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.

May assist in patient transport.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
