Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support the 3 Central Surgical GEN unit through a Talent Pool. You will provide patient-centered nursing care to a diverse patient population, following College of Nurses of Ontario standards and SHN policies.

This multi-site role may involve assignments at the General or Birchmount hospital based on program needs, with day and night shifts and an hourly rate in the listed range.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in patient teaching and patient assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centred care.
• Able to work independently within a Total Patient Care model.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Practice according to College of Nurses of Ontario standards and SHN policies.
• Care for patients and families in the 3 Central Surgical GEN unit; multi-site scheduling possible.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient care.
