Job summary

Scarborough Health Network invites applications for a Temporary Part-time Registered Practical Nurse in the 4C Surgery (BIR) unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and SHN policies, across Birchmount and other sites as needed.

Ideal candidates hold current RPN registration in good standing, surgical/acute care experience, BCLS, and demonstrate strong assessment, teaching,

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Practical Nurse in good standing.
• Previous or current surgical experience in an acute care setting.
• Current BCLS.
• Ability to work independently and to carry a busy workload.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated excellence in patient teaching and patient assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide patient centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality nursing care to a diverse patient population within this unit.
• Practice according to the current standards and SHN policies and procedures.
• Coordinate care across multiple sites as needed and support patient and family education.
