Job summary

Moeller Precision Tool in Ayr, ON is seeking a Surface Grinder / Wire EDM Operator (Tool & Die) for a climate-controlled shop.

Set up and operate manual surface grinding and Wire EDM equipment, read blueprints, perform precision grinding, and verify parts with measuring tools.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM with overtime. Pay: $22.00–$29.00/hr plus benefits, vacation and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of machining, surface grinding, tool & die, or Wire EDM experience.
• Hands-on with surface grinding equipment and Wire EDM preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate manual surface grinding equipment
• Perform precision grinding of tool steel components
• Work with fixtures, blocks, and tooling setups
• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to machine precision components
• Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and program verification
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Hold tight tolerances and maintain high-quality standards
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
• Support machining and tooling operations as needed

What You Need

• 2+ years of machining, surface grinding, tool & die, or Wire EDM experience
• Hands-on experience with manual surface grinding equipment and Wire EDM preferred
• Experience with Mitsubishi, Makino, Fanuc, or similar Wire EDM equipment is a plus
• Experience working with tool steel strongly preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
• Experience maintaining tight tolerances on precision components
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• 45-50 hours/week, including regular overtime opportunities
