Job summary

Gray Collection's Carletto in Ottawa is seeking a Support Staff member to bridge kitchen and dining room operations. You will help maintain service flow, ensure quality and presentation, and deliver food efficiently while upholding hygiene standards.

The role requires 2+ years in a similar upscale environment, excellent English and French communication, and availability evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid work permit is required to join our team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid work permit required.
• Experience in an Italian restaurant or similar upscale environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between the kitchen and dining room during service.
• Announce orders clearly to the Chef and kitchen team at the pass.
• Ensure all dishes meet presentation and temperature standards before being served.
• Verify plate accuracy and cleanliness prior to delivery.
• Deliver food promptly and efficiently to the appropriate tables.
• Support service flow by managing timing and pace for each table.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Clear plates and maintain cleanliness in service areas when required.
• Collaborate with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Follow all established service, hygiene, and safety standards.
