Job summary

The Durham District School Board is seeking a Supply Educational Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs across our elementary and secondary schools. You’ll cover absences for durations from a day to several months and remain assigned to the school you applied to.

You will work under the guidance of teachers and principals, assist with learning activities, supervise students, and help with routine tasks described in the major duties.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma required.
• Experience supervising and supporting children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in the teaching and learning process with students who have diverse learning needs.
• Prepare classroom materials and equipment as directed to support individual student needs.
• Maintain student records and charts as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students during various activities and transitions.
• Support students with life skills and integration into classroom activities.
