Job summary

Upper Canada District School Board is accepting applications for an Educational Assistant to support students with exceptional needs under the supervision of the Principal and LRT. You will assist in instruction, implement individualized programs, manage behaviour, and help with communication and safety in collaboration with teachers and families.

The role requires discretion with confidential information and flexibility to handle varied tasks across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma and relevant college diploma in related field.
• Knowledge of social/emotional and physical needs of students with disabilities.
• BMS training/certification is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Support individual or group students according to IEPs and academic needs.
• Assist in implementing behavioural and therapeutic programs as identified.
• Administer medications and maintain medication records as authorized.
• Maintain confidentiality and support safety plans for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, LRT, parents/guardians, and agencies to monitor progress.
