Job summary

DSBN invites applications for a Supply Educational Assistant / Long-term Occasional position. This on-call role supports students with diverse needs across DSBN elementary and secondary schools in the Niagara Region, with a pay rate of $198.04 per day (including 4% vacation pay) and a schedule up to 35 hours per week from September to June.

Ideal candidates will have an Educational Assistant or related diploma, experience with students with special education needs, and the ability to work across

Qualifications

• Educational Assistance or Autism and Behavioural Science Diploma or equivalent post secondary program in education as deemed by the employer
• Minimum of one year proven ability and recent working experience with students or individuals with special needs and behavioural disabilities
• Capable of performing essential physical duties such as lifting, positioning and transferring children with BMS techniques

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs, including autism and behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to foster a positive learning environment.
• Be flexible to work across DSBN locations and adjust schedules.
• Follow board policies and ensure safety and confidentiality in all duties.
