Job summary

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) invites applications for a temporary full-time Educational Assistant at Edward Johnson Public School. This 1.0 FTE role supports students with diverse needs, including behavior, safety, medical and physical requirements, under supervision of the school team.

Qualifications include an Educational Assistant Diploma or related education, a Post-Secondary degree, and a valid Behaviour Management Systems certification.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent in education fields
• Post-secondary degree related to child development or education
• Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification required
• Experience with students with special needs and disabilities preferred
• Training in Autism Spectrum Disorder and lifting/positioning

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse needs including behavior, safety, medical and physical requirements
• Assist with lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment using BMS methods
• Work with students individually or in groups under the supervision of a teacher
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents and administration
• Perform other duties as assigned
