The Durham District School Board is seeking a Supply Educational Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs across our elementary and secondary schools. You’ll cover absences for durations from a day to several months and remain assigned to the school you applied to.
You will work under the guidance of teachers and principals, assist with learning activities, supervise students, and help with routine tasks described in the major duties.
The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. As a Supply Educational Assistant in the Pod at (school) you'll have the chance to develop and broaden your skills through a variety of assignments to cover absences for specific durations-ranging from a day to several months.
Please note: You will only be assigned to work in the school you applied to and were hired for.
As a Supply Educational Assistant at DDSB, you'll have the chance to develop and broaden your skills through a variety of assignments at our elementary and secondary schools. As a supply Educational Assistant, you are employed directly by the board and will be placed in temporary roles to cover employee absences for specific durations-ranging from a day to several months. Once your current assignment concludes, you'll move on to another position, which may be at the same school or a different location within the DDSB.

To assist the classroom teacher in the education of students with diverse learning needs. The deployment and assignment of duties within the school or a classroom setting, are the responsibility of the teacher involved, in consultation with the principal.
