Job summary

Avon Maitland District School Board is seeking individuals for a Supply Educational Assistant role to support students with diverse needs in our schools. This casual/call-in assignment runs September to June with daily occasional and long-term possibilities.

Responsibilities include implementing Behaviour Management Systems, assisting with mobility and personal care, and maintaining confidentiality. A 2-year Educational Support Diploma or related experience is required, plus a Criminal Record

Qualifications

Two-year Educational Support Diploma or equivalent board-recognized experience.
Experience supporting students with special needs is an asset; school-based experience is an asset.
Able to perform essential physical duties (lifting, positioning, transferring).
Criminal Reference Check is part of the requirement process.

Responsibilities

Apply Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) to promote positive behavior (training provided).
Assist with physical mobility, positioning, lifting, equipment transfers, and personal care.
Foster safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
Maintain strict confidentiality of student, staff and school information.
