The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) oversees the entire supply chain process, including planning, development, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Key responsibilities include implementing cost-effective business process improvements, controlling inventory levels and demands, and managing vendors.
Ideal candidates should:
- Lead the planning of procurement, production, inventory control, logistics, and material distribution processes.
- Ensure each step functions effectively to prevent costly delays.
- Manage daily and timely replenishment of stock and materials, considering cost optimization and efficient Turn Around Time (TAT).
- Communicate needs, objectives, and updates to managers and key personnel across departments such as repair development and business development to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Maintain a quality and cost-optimized purchasing process by continuously monitoring and improving supply chain processes, managing inventory, and developing long-term demand plans to increase availability and reduce costs.
- Manage relationships with vendors and IT systems through regular communication, performance monitoring, and strategic alignment. Lead and coach the procurement team for effective communication and operations.
- Review current systems and practices, making strategic recommendations for improvements in production, order management, inventory, and distribution, aligning with financial goals.
- Train, develop, mentor, and support team members across the supply chain departments, fostering teamwork and multitasking capabilities.
- Develop, implement, and circulate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to relevant teams.
- Champion inventory management best practices across MTU global operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-4 years of management experience in supply chain or logistics.
- 7-8 years of experience in an operations environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
- Results-oriented with strategic thinking and change agility.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work under stress in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in aviation and managing unionized employees is preferred.
