DIRECTOR, MARKETING OPERATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS - Remote
Here is what you will spend your time doing!
Leadership
- Inspire and Motivate: Build, drive, and sustain an engaged, high-performance Marketing, Brand & Internal Communications team that is passionate about implementing our business strategy and achieving ambitious growth goals.
- Empower and Develop: Foster employee capabilities through performance management, coaching, succession planning, and team effectiveness, ensuring each team member reaches their full potential.
- Champion Our Culture: Model and communicate Western’s Guiding Principles, embedding them as the foundation of our vibrant and inclusive culture.
Strategic Marketing & Brand
- Performance Marketing: Develop, implement, and manage performance marketing campaigns across multiple channels including search engines, social media, display advertising, and affiliate networks that drive lead generation, brand awareness, and support community care.
- Lead Generation: Create quality leads and amplify marketing solutions across channels.
- Brand Presence: Develop and maintain enterprise brand identity, ensuring consistency across channels and customer touchpoints. Lead marketing efforts across bricks & mortar, call centres, and digital spaces. Utilize traditional billboard, radio, and leverage social channels and the social community to engage high intent shoppers.
- Content Creation: Guide the creation of high-quality visual and written content, ensuring alignment with brand voice and strategic objectives. Partner with other marketing functions to execute innovative multi-channel campaigns and content strategies.
- PR Excellence: Lead Public Relations function by developing multi-disciplinary communications strategies
- Communication Champion: Champion internal and external communications to enhance engagement and brand reputation.
Marketing Analytics & Operations
- Optimization: Continuously optimize campaigns to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS).
- Data-Driven Decisions: Establish and implement robust marketing analytics processes to measure everything we do.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee performance monitoring and analysis of marketing efforts, evaluating campaign efficacy and progress on brand evolution.
- Technology Optimization: Manage and optimize marketing technology tools, including automation to streamline operations and improve the customer journey.
Business Partnership & Communication
- Collaborative Connections: Liaise with cross-functional leaders, internal and external stakeholders and experts across the business to develop editorial programming and content strategies.
- Industry & External Partnerships: Identify opportunities for external partnerships to strengthen brand equity and loyalty. Build strategic relationships with key industry players, vendors, and third-party advertising agencies.
What are we looking for?
- Business Awareness: Understanding the broader business context and industry trends to make informed decisions that align with organizational goals.
- Customer Focus: Prioritizing the needs and preferences of customers in all marketing and communication strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Digital Marketing: Experience using Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and other relevant platforms. Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.
- Decision Making/Judgment: Demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills to navigate complex situations and drive successful outcomes.
- Managing for Results: Setting clear objectives, monitoring progress, and ensuring accountability to achieve high-impact results.
- People Management: Leading and developing a high-performance team through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Planning & Prioritizing: Strategically planning and prioritizing tasks and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Budget Management: Managing marketing budgets effectively, optimizing spend, and ensuring a high return on investment.
- Strategic Thinking/Management: Developing and implementing strategic plans that drive business growth and enhance brand equity.
Hours: 37.5hrs per week - Full-time role

Compensation Range: $115,000 - $160,000
