Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead shift duties, health and safety, performance, customer relations, and people development.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage labour, supervise operators and warehouse staff, and drive on-time shipments within budget. You will monitor daily performance, approve hours in the HR system, coach staff, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring a safe, clean work environment on-site in Montreal.

Qualifications

• College diploma in logistics or related experience.
• Minimum 5 years distribution experience (3PL would be asset).
• At least 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in a 3PL Ops role.
• Proficiency with MS software and WMS.

Responsibilities

• Schedule labour requirements for the shift to meet production goals within budget.
• Complete shift briefings to communicate information to staff.
• Assign and follow up with operators on task duration and completion times.
• Ensure order sequences are shipped based on priority shipments and customers, reducing waiting times.
• Hold team members accountable for loading procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly department performance with KPI tracking.
• Approve labour hours in UKG, ensure accurate records and cost allocation.
• Provide daily feedback and conduct performance appraisals; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with OHSA and related laws.

Job description

Shift: Monday to Friday: 9:30 to 6:00pm

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for all facets of the operations on the shift. This involves leading all aspects of health and safety, operational performance, customer relations, continuous improvement, and people management and development.

• Schedule the labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure.
• Complete shift briefings to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees.
• Assign and follow up with operators and warehouse staff on the length of time required for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate time of completion,
• Ensure the sequences of orders are shipped based on priority shipments and priority customers therefore reducing extensive waiting times for drivers, RUSH loads and late deliveries,
• Hold Team Members accountable for ensuring proper loading procedures are followed and that all production meets or exceeds Client's quality standards.
• Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance through effective KPI tracking and data collection for respective shift.
• On a daily basis approve all labour hours using UKG in adherence with company policies, maintaining accurate record keeping ensuring proper payment of employees for the shift and cost allocation to customer accounts.
• Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals. Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships while assessing service requirements; communicate where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Fulfill the duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act including safety, violence and harassment laws.
• Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Preferably a College Diploma in Business Management with focus in Logistics Management and/or the equivalent in experience.
• Five (5) years Distribution experience (3PL experience would be an asset)
• At least two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a 3PL Operations role
• Computer literacy in MS software.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• MHE license would be an asset
• Exemplary attendance and punctuality
• Must be able to communicate in French and possess a basic knowledge of English to communicate with individuals outside the province of Quebec.
