Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a dining services manager to lead FOH operations, train and onboard staff, and ensure high quality service across dining venues. You will manage inventory, monitor cleanliness, and uphold policies to meet client expectations.

The role involves collaborating with Marketing for signage and events, assisting with catering and BEOs, and maintaining positive relationships with clients, residents, and the team while driving cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading dining/food service teams.
  • Experience training and onboarding staff.
  • Experience managing inventory and reducing waste.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Trains, manages, develops, and onboards staff.
  • Performs FOH inventory management to maintain high valuation and minimal waste.
  • Ensures that staff is on task, quality assurance standards are being met, and the operation is clean and organized.
  • Monitors marketing, confirming that signage is current and appropriate. Additionally, working with Activities and Marketing departments to ensure proper events and dining calendars are communicated/updated.
  • Upholds policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with company and client expectations.
  • Trains and supervises alcoholic beverage service if applicable
  • Assists with catering events tied to the community internally and externally. Including BEO's and event management and execution.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with client, residents, and back of house team.
  • Works with vendors as needed to increase positive cost results.
  • Works cooperatively with other management regarding attendance and staffing to achieve maximum results
  • Oversees financial aspects of first-class bar/concession stand operations and cashier closeouts.
  • Consistent daily meal rounding in all dining venues.
  • Utilize resident satisfaction audit tools to adjust service needs.
  • Track and follow up on resident comments cards
  • Support culinary in daily and weekly setup of dining programmed events i.e. Teaching Kitchens, Chef's Tables, Superfood Display etc.
  • Manages internal and external communication with resident and guest orders and needs, including and not limited use of phones, email, radio(s) or any other form of communication tool.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
