Job Description:

This position covers a wide range of responsibilities relating to maintaining an extensive common area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely completion of all budgeted projects and the handling of day-to-day issues for the department, ensuring that Brookfield Place Calgary is maintained to a Class ‘A’ standard at all times. This position requires an individual with superior customer service and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Effective management of the Building Service staff
  2. Overseeing the coordination of routine and preventative minor maintenance on building finishes, fixtures, amenities, and equipment done internally or externally
  3. Ensuring jobs are scheduled with contractors, completed to satisfaction, and properly invoiced in alignment with AP deadlines and requirements
  4. Administering expenses for the department by managing select accounts inline with the prepared budget
  5. Monitoring turnaround times, actions, responses, and frequency of tenant and department requests through the Angus platform
  6. Producing accurate and organized reports and summaries on department-related items in a timely manner
  7. Assisting in preparing documentation for building certifications and code-required reviews
  8. Ensuring department inspections are complete in full with remediation on actionable items
  9. Maintaining proper inventory levels and control measures while ensuring storage spaces are safe and organized
  10. Coordinating and maintaining department Work Authorization & Safe Work Permits
  11. Identifying hazards and ensuring department work is practiced in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures
  12. Participating in emergency response and fire alarm procedures
  13. Assisting with tenant and building events through coordinating the Building Service Departments’ responsibilities
  14. Flexibility with working hours is required, including occasional overtime
  15. Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures for the Building Services team
  16. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS:

  1. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  2. Aptitude to remain enthusiastic and motivated when redirection occurs
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Outstanding customer service skills with a positive attitude
  5. Capacity to balance both day-to-day office work and site visits within the building
  6. Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  7. Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  8. Internally motivated to complete projects successfully by established deadlines
  9. Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  1. 2 – 5 years experience in a property management environment, preferably in a large complex
  2. Must have previous supervisory experience
  3. Previous project management knowledge preferred
  4. Intermediate levels in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent
  2. Completion of post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
  3. Working towards an industry designation, RPA or FMA is considered an asset
